Guest guest
I think they usually say between 2 – 3 years for first visit. It depends on your child. Our dentist is Great! A few times a year they set a morning aside for new toddler patients. They call it tooth fairy day. The children are taken back one by one and they are showed all the different things used in a check-up. They give everything these cute names like Mr. Slurpy and Mr. Tickly. After the dentist is done showing the child the different tools, they go visit the tooth fairy, where they get their photo taken with her and get a bag full of stickers, tooth brush, kiddy floss. If the child does well they set up the first appt. If not they recommend you bring them back for the next tooth fairy day and see if they are more comfortable. Tooth Fairy Day is a free thing they do because it also helps make their life easier if the children are not afraid to come. Don't be afraid to call around to the different offices to see what kind of amenities they offer for little ones. Our dentist also has TVs in all the rooms, so the kids can pick out a video to watch while any work is being done. Guest guest
One more thing our dentist is not a Pediatric dentist. They are just really family centered. So if you have gone through the list of Pediatric dentist in your area and are not happy, starting call the general dentist. For us it is great to have one dentist for the whole family and the kids will not need to switch dentists when they get older. Referrals by friends came be a great resource. I have referred a ton of parents to our dentist, so many I should be given some kind of finders fee. Happy Hunting.
