Guest guest
Laurie, That's terrific news about 's eyes! I have made an appointment for Hanna with an opthamologist. We go on Jan 25. I'm curious to know what had to go through and what the suspected problem turned out to be. Our doctors asst. told me on the phone that they would dialate, which would let them see better if the eye turns on it's own. She warned that Hanna would not be very happy with us,but that young children frequently sleep for long periods after the ordeal (totally traumatized, I would imagine!). Did your doctor think her eye would straighten out on it's own? I guess I'm being nosey and want to know exactly what he did and said so I'll be prepared!! Anything you could share would be greatly appreciated. That's great that he knew about the whole plagio thing. I'm hoping for the same. - In Plagiocephalyegroups, lgins1997@a... wrote: > We took to a pediatric opthamologist and he said that everything was > fine with 's eyes!! Guest guest
, Our appointment really wasn't that bad. actually hardly fussed at all and her only fussiness was because I woke her up from her nap to take her to the appointment. The doctor looked at her eyes and dilated them with drops. Once the drops were in she was fine and it only took a second to put them in. We had to wait about 20 minutes once the drops were in. The doctor thought her eyes were straight. We thought one eye turned in slightly. Let me know what happens or if you have any more question. Guest guest
Smart woman! I've seen these tubes and they are hollow. Don't know why they call them "plugs". Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: naturalbeauty38 Sent: Wednesday, July 30, 2003 8:47 AM Subject: Eyes Can some one explain the purpose of the plugs in the eyes? i just never quite understood how plugging them can help with dry eyes so I guess I must be missing something. I want to add that I chose to take my IUD out too when I got ill just to be safe I wanted nothing in me that could have been causing me problems. I had the IUD for years and not a problem, but when I got sick I just decided it was time to remove everything.hugs
Guest guest
who here has plugs? did you still need them after your explant? i have plugs and they help quite a bit and i also use restasis. plugs are inserted into the tear ducts to keep your natural tears on your eyes longer so they dont dry out and burn, and also dont cause damage to the cornea. i seen someone here had them for sjourens. i have them in but all my blood work was neg. i go back firday to do re-testing since my intial tests were in jan.naturalbeauty38 <naturalbeauty38@...> wrote: Can some one explain the purpose of the plugs in the eyes? i just never quite understood how plugging them can help with dry eyes so I guess I must be missing something. Guest guest
Kim, I did find the eye plugs uncomfortable at first, but much less so now. It took a few months for me to really adjust, but nothing helped like the Restasis and I also use an eye gel for nightime which I find really helps. Have you tried those? Genteal has been good for me- I even use it in the day sometimes rather than the artificial tears if I have to do a lot of reading. I'm sure you've already researched it plenty because I know it's a very annoying symptom, but I thought this site was helpful for little tips. http://eyecare.freeyellow.com/dryeye.htm Lena > > > > Lena, > > > > Even a tiny amount may cause you problems, in my humble > opinion. > > > Once you are reacting to something, it doesn't take much to > trigger > > > immune responses.
