Re: & Dane

Our computer finally took a nosedive. Guy broke down and let me

order a new one (refurbished Dell - what a bargain!). Anyhow, it

just got set up about 2 minutes ago!

We got Dane's exit cast back last week. It does not really look

like his head. His right cheek looks like he had a big gobstopper

in it! Comparing it with the original headsicle really does show

how nicely his forehead evened out. I'm kind of bummed at how it

doesn't really reflect the progress he made. I was going to take

both headsicles to his 12 month checkup.

I was totally freaking out about regression. A couple of people

noticed that he was looking a little flatter and his left eye was

small. I think he went back to his comfort zone when he got 2 more

teeth. I kept trying to reposition him at night. He hit a nice

growth spurt, so I think that helped pop thinks back out again.

I might have been crazy imagining the regression, but he seems to

look better now, so I have put that worry aside.

Did anyone hear back from Babyzone? Did Dakota's orthotist figure

out how to adjust the STARBand with the glasses? Is that really Ken

in that mug shots?

Oh, I missed so much!

Hope your dad is doing well !

Woohoo!! is back!!! What a great guy Guy is to let you get

new computer. (man, I am so unoriginal, you guys must hear stuff

like that all the time...Guy's a great guy!)

Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you are no longer worried about

regression. It is very rare, but it has happened, so I think you had

the right idea about repositioning!

Let's see, I haven't heard back from BabyZone, don't know if anyone

else has. Amie's ortho did finally get the glasses and band to go

together, and message #41502 has a great picture of Dakota! That is

not the real Ken in the mugshot, but his wife still thinks he looks

scary, you can see for yourself in the photos section!

Great to have you back!

So nice to have you back in action! Yeah Guy! On the exit cast, I wouldn't get too bummed- you have gotten great results with Dane and that's all you need to know- don't sweat it, I think sometimes those casts are too defining, because hair does cover some of those nooks and crannies (for lack of a better term) anyway, and I think Dane looks terrific. It sure wouldn't hurt to keep repositioning even now, since he might still have that preference going on. You know that tort is a tricky thing, and should be monitored until 2 yrs of age, so just keep it in the back of your mind and reposition, stretch, righting exercises, when you can, in play, whatever, even if just for precaution of regression. We have been talking about how our eyes do play tricks on us, some days it looks great, other days you think its flatter- its so hard to tell when you are with your child everyday- and I find those molds a little hard to figure out too. I took out ' cast (didn't do the exit cast), and sometimes I had a problem seeing how bad it was, it didn't look all that bad, but someone suggested laying it on a countertop, and I couldn't believe how fast that head rolled to the right! Anyway, just keep monitoring that tort and repositioning if you feel he might be regressing. Good luck- keep us posted! And yes, Dakota looks absolutely adorable in his band and glasses!

BTW- I finally posted before and after pics of ' tort- check it out.

Alright !

We've missed you....hopefully the new puter won't break down on you

(us!) now :)

Dakota's band & glasses have been working, no that's not Ken in the

mugshot pic - he has his real pictures in the photos section now LOL -

and no news from Babyzone that I'm aware of.

Glad you got the exit mold back, sorry you were a bit disappointed in

it, I felt the exact same way you felt when I got Abby's back too,

strange!

Glad his head also popped back out some :) How's Olivia doing, any

luck w/her potty training? Is she in preschool now?
