Guest guest
This has happened with us as well. I have the doctors names who denied our level 1 and level 2 appeals. One of them is an internal medicince specialist, and why that makes him qualified to deny DOC band therapy is beyond me, but I'm going to use that info in our next appeal. Or external appeal was denied by a pediatric neurologist and they won't give us his name. It makes me mad. I'd love to post his name on this site so that no one goes to him and is denied treatment, but unfortunately I can't. Gail, Sam and Sara's mom, DOC grads Ins carrier said they won't disclose who is on their board I am waiting for an answer to our 1st level appeal from Horizon BCBS New Jersey. I asked them who was on their medical advisor's board because I wanted to know who denied treatment for our daughter and they said the couldn't disclose that information. I asked them to fax me a letter which they did that says, "Unfortunately, we are not able to disclose the names of the physicians who serve on this board".Why won't they disclose this information? I wanted to see what each one's specialty was?Barbara (Sofia & Catalina)For more plagio info
Guest guest
Gail, You've gotten more info than I have. They won't even tell me who denied our request for pre-approval. I'm waiting for an answer on our 1st level appeal. They will probably deny it. Is it legal for them to deny giving us the names of Doctors on their medical review board who are denying treatment for our children? These doctors haven't even seen our children to determine if they need medical treatment or not. Barbara (Sofia & Catalina) > This has happened with us as well. Guest guest
Barbara, That's a great question. I would suggest calling someone in HR, or whoever handles benefits for you to see what they know. I would love to get the name of this guy who wrote our last denial. He has got a huge chip on his shoulder and I want to be sure he never ends up treating, or denying treatment for my children (we like to relocate, and who knows if we'll end up in the same town as this guy.). Let me know what you find out. Gail Ins carrier said they won't disclose who is on their board> > > I am waiting for an answer to our 1st level appeal from Horizon BCBS > New Jersey. Guest guest
Hi Beck, Thanks....I'll contact them. It doesn't seem legal to me that they wouldn't give me this info but I don't know. They even faxed me the letter saying they were not allowed to disclose this info.
