Guest guest
Hi I take Logan to a Cranial Osteopath. He is a D.O. Logan doesn't mind the treatments at all, but he is a pretty laid back baby. He just lays on the pillows and chews a toy. We will go three weeks in a row, then next month, then in three months. Personally, I wouldn't try to do it myself. Dr. Sanet has a lot of experience with plagio and I feel better about going to someone with 12 years of medical school under their belt than a PT or OT. I found him by searching the internet. (If you want to read about him he's at ohwi.org. Maybe he could help you find someone in your area?) The only hard thing is he doesn't take insurance. And it's *gulp* $135 a visit. Luckily he doesn't think Logan will need any more than those few visits. Charlotte at CT said that in her experience, babies who got cranial therapy didn't improve faster than those who didn't That's the whole reason we are doing this. But, I want to continue with it because I feel good about it. -/Logan 6.5 months PA > Hi all, I have several questions for those of you who have had craniosacral on their babies. > > 1) Did your child cry through the whole procedure? > > 2) Did you have difficulty finding a practitioner & what kind of practitioner did you use? Adele cried through both visits with the osteopath, so much so that he doesn't want to treat her when she's that upset. Personally I think she's always going to cry hysterically when someone's touching her head, especially when that person is male. > > There are a couple of female occupational therapists in town who do cranio-sacral, but their training is oriented towards use for psychological reasons not cranial plate shifting. There are also several massage therapists in town who report to do cranio-sacral, but again I don't know their training is advanced enough to treat the eye & ear misalignment issues that I want addressed. > > The osteopath tried to give me some idea of how I could do some basic CST at home. But I couldn't feel the bumps he was referring to at all. I seem to recall that someone's baby had pronounced bumps on their head after DOC Band graduation -- perhaps this is the same things I should be looking for? > > It would be helpful for me to hear your experience. Guest guest
, Thanks for your feedback. The osteopath (D.O.) we've seen also specializes in cranial sacral. In fact, he is the only osteopath in NC who does exclusively CS. I'm confident in his experience and expertise, it's just that my daughter isn't comfortable with him. Interesting what Charlotte at CT says about craniosacral, since there is a mom on the other plagio board who says that she has definitely seen improvements in her daughter's eye asymmetry following each therapy session (with a PT). (BTW, this was before her daughter got a helmet.) Makes me think that the expertise of the practioner is important. - > > Hi all, I have several questions for those of you who have had > craniosacral on their babies. > > > > 1) Did your child cry through the whole procedure? > > > > 2) Did you have difficulty finding a practitioner & what kind of > practitioner did you use?
