Shimi:

I am not sure about the Starband. My daughter has the

DOC band, but her orthotist told us that it was not

okay to have the band covering the ear. Her band sits

right above her ear but doesn't touch it (except when

she is laying on it weird). She has also had some

redness on the forehead, but we were told that it

should go away within an hour.

Let us know what your orthotist says. Good luck!

Hi Shimi,

Your babies are adorable and you did a GREAT job decorating them. I'm sorry

to hear about the fitting problems. By the time you get this you will have

already had your appointment so I hope you will let us know what the ortho

said about your concerns.

Hi Shimi,

I'm sure you've already gotten some great advice and I hope your OT was able

to address your concerns. Firstly, and or absolutely

adorable! I think that both helmets could use just a little shave off the

eye area, even 1/2inch or less would help keep it out of their line of

vision, and I don't think that would compromise any growth since we're

talking about right above their eyes. Also, I had concerns about the ear

area as well, and I specifically asked for this to be shaved around the ear

for comfort purposes, and I think you should do the same, not only with the

ear, but with every concern that you mentioned. The base of the helmet may

not be able to be trimmed- I too had concerns with that area but I was told

that it needed to stay because it was essentially " holding " the helmet in

place. I would certainly ask about the cheek problem, and the red forehead.

Good luck and keep us posted on how your boys are doing!
