Guest guest
I have the odd child that has the opposite reaction to antihistamines. Some of them key her up. The only ones that actually do make her drowsy are Phenergan and Atarax. They others keep her hopping. Guest guest
The immunologist and hematologist told us that it is not uncommon for people with CVID, and other immune deficiency disorders, to develop auto-immune antibodies.....they said the body makes antibodies to its own tissues, that's easier than making antibodies to invading organisms, the body has more practice on these cells... so my son has developed auto-immune antibodies to his own platelets...ugh...and now the most recent, he has developed antibodies to his adrenal glands causing s disease! The adrenal insufficiency can be serious, he has to take replacement hormones, it's scary. The endocrinologist said often people with PIDD develop anti-thyroid antibodies, and need replacement hormones for that.....hopefully, that's not happening to her, but maybe ask them to check for the anti-thyroid antibodies and watch it over the years....sue From: osdbmom <osdbmom@...> Subject: T4 question Date: Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 12:46 AM Â Im just wondering if IVIG could alter T4 test results? Im not sure. We've had an issue with Savannah being unable to sleep for about the last 6 months. We are waiting on a sleep study appt. We've cut out caffiene, switched her antihistamine to bedtime, keep to a schedule, turn off the phone/ipod at 10, tried melatonin. Nothing is helping. She's getting less than 3-4 hrs a night. Family dr ran some labs and found her T4 is a little low, but her TSH is fine/average range. We will recheck the T4 in 4 weeks. I was just thinking, it was the week after infusion so I didn't know if that might alter her results at all. valarie mom to 3 w/cvid
Guest guest
Lucas only sleeps 3-4 hours most nights but also gets hyper from SOME antihistimines. Claritin and Benadryl make him agitated and ANGRY . > > From: uahollem@... > Date: Mon, 23 Apr 2012 20:59:50 -0400 > Subject: Re: T4 question > > I have the odd child that has the opposite reaction to antihistamines. > Some of them key her up. Guest guest
I don't think its the allergy meds. Peersonally I think she had restless leg syndrome. I do. When she was a baby she screamed all night long. As a toddler and young child she would cry for hours about leg and wrist pain. About age 8-10 she sleepwalked most nights. She had complained about " racing thoughts " off and on for a few years, but the last six months ir so its been every night she says her mind races in circles, she cant stop thinking about stuff and her legs feel like she needs to get up and run around the house. She tosses and turns a lot in her sleep. Valarie > > > > > ** > > > > > > > > > Im just wondering if IVIG could alter T4 test results?
