Guest guest
Hi Amy, Just thought you might like to hear our experience with all of this. My daughter (10) also responded immediatly to her med. (fluoxetine). I believe knowing that there was a name for what was driving her crazy and knowing that there was a way to help it eased her mind before the drugs could take effect. She continued counseling for the next 3 months or so and I had my little girl back. Her counselor took a new job and thought my daughter was well enough to end her sessions so she closed her file. As soon as my daughter learned she didn't have that outlet she went right into one her OCD episodes. During the time she was going to sessions she constantly told me she didn't want to go and that she wasn't having her obsessive thoughts. Anyway, I hunted down her counselor and she now sees us at our home (very expensive!!), but she only plans to come once a month or as needed. Just knowing she has access to her relieves her anxiety. She also continues her medication. Hope this helps. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing.
