3 pics, 1 yr. AFTER DOC Graduated

Hello everyone!

It's been quite a LONG time since I've posted. We've moved to Omaha, Nebraska, from San Francisco this summer, bought a house and both kids start preschool on Tuesday at the same place. I have a FT job and Jack (husband) is employed after being unemployed in SF for 6 months. That's why we moved here in the first place.

These are two shots of Maxwell's head now & 1 of before treatment. Notice the "edge" of his backside of his noggin. He is in despearate need of a hair cut so please ignore the bushy mop and he's taking a nap but I wanted to show you how his head is SO nice and basically round a year after graduating from his DOC band.

They are not the best examples but I'll get his head wet and then take some "above" shots and show you how it's continued to improve without the band. I am SO thankful for getting the treatment done for him. I'd've never been able to live with myself if I didn't get it done.

For those who don't know us, Maxwell had tort & plagio and got his DOC band at 10.5 months, wore it for 16 weeks and looks marvelous now. He didn't utter a word before the band nor crawl or really eat much. He started to walk at 17.5 months but slept through the night the very first night he got his band on and started to crawl the next day. He was a big baby (not when he was born, mind you) and has settled into the 50th percentile for height & weight but his head is still in the 80th (used to be 90th so the rest of him is catching up!) though when he was a month early at birth, he was off the charts, meaning below. He's a typical 2 year old boy and loves his trucks and Buzz Lightyear (his 4.5yr. old sister convinced him to like Buzz, BTW...) and dinosaurs. He's also very sweet and still loves to cuddle with his mom but he won't give up that thumb of his!!

I'll send a few more pictures later on, one's from last summer and then this summer so you can see his face/head improvements out of the DOC band.

Thanks for looking and always being there for support, and sorry for being so long-winded, & Maxwell HartOmaha, NebraskaDOC Banded: May 16th, 2001DOC Graduated: September 9th, 2001

Congrats on the improvement, and Maxwell!!! It is so nice to hear recovery stories as we are just starting out on this journey. I am awaiting a phone call from a Chicago pediatric neurologist so we can get 's flattening evaluated. Best of luck to you both that he continues to show improvement and thanks for the pics and update.
