Hi all:

Well, it is official! Annika graduated from her DOC

Band on 8/14/02. We were so proud to get her

certificate and bag of cookies (Annika liked the

cookies more). We are going to continue to keep her

in the band for another 2 weeks because she has some

more room and we figure why not.

CT took measurements again and we are so pleased. She

has only 3 mm CVA, 1 mm mid face and 3 mm upper face.

What an improvement! Plus, she looks great. You can't

even tell that there was any flattening. (I can still

tell when her hair is wet - but that's because I'm

looking). For those of you who don't know - Annika

started the band at 12 months & is now 15 months.

It's funny, because now that I look back, I am so

amazed at how this was such a non issue. I remember

when we were considering whether to band how scared I

was and wondered whether I was making the right

decision. Ultimately, it was such an easy process, CT

was great and Annika wasn't phased a bit. In the end,

the results were WELL WORTH IT.

I am so thankful for all of the support from this

group. It was all of you telling me that Annika

wouldn't care and that your results were worth it that

made it easier for us. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK

YOU

I really wanted to post a before and after picture,

but I haven't gotten the film developed yet. I will

make sure to add a post within the next week so you

can all see the results.

Thanks again!

Tami (mom to Annika DOC Band Graduate 8/14/02)
