Guest guest
What baffles me is the HUGE variation in price between some types of bands and others. How is it possible that a locally made band can cost as little as $400, and others more than $4,000? That's a gigantic price difference, for very similar devices. I wonder how the higher priced makers justify their enormous surcharge?
Guest guest
COMPAREHELMET i guess it comes in the experience and what they do to get there. Guest guest
Ken - We paid $2900. It included the weekly - sometimes more frequent- adjustments as well as anything else. We had at least 15 appointments (plus my annoying phone calls) with people who lived and breathed plagiocephaly. I actually think it was a real bargain. I would have paid 10x that amount to correct that facial and ear asymmetry and of course the flat spot! I would have even asked my monster -in- law for money. Those weekly adjustments really promoted fast correction. Dane's mom DOC Grad - very satisfied Customer > What baffles me is the HUGE variation in price between some types of > bands and others. Guest guest
I agree with here. Although PRIOR to us getting Abby's DOCband I remember myself posting a similar message to Ken's on this board. I couldn't understand how Cranial Tech could justify charging such a large amount for what I THOUGHT was the same product as the STARband. After wasting 3 mos time in Abby's STARband (which cost $1100.00) and switching her into the DOCband (cost $3,000.00), I was shocked at the difference. With Cranial Tech's average charge of $3,000.00 you are being guaranteed that you will get a highly educated occupational therapist who has gone thru weeks, months of training before they are allowed to treat plagio babies with their product. Cranial Tech's only product is their DOCband, that's it. They have done countless studies and were, I believe, the first FDA approved cranial orthosis available to plagio babies. They spend so much time & money studying their product and it's effectiveness. For Abby & my family, the DOCband worked wonders which I would have spent lots more for. This is just my personal opinion here, the last thing I'm doing is trying to strike up any debate!
