Guest guest
What a cutie....it definitely looks like he enjoyed his cake but needs a nap!!! I am sure you had fun with his bath!!! They do make cakes with non-dairy whipped topping. A local grocery store here carries them and I think it is so much better tasting than buttercream. I won't eat anything else now. Check it out in your area to see if they make this. Taryn 's mom Birthday Cake-OT We celebrated Dane birthday this past weekend. His bday isn't until 9/10, but we were all together this weekend at my parents for the holiday and decided to give him his cake early. He sure like squeezing his fingers in it. He is allergice to dairy, so he won't probably get cake again until he outgrows his allergies. He gets eczema, but it doesn't bother him, so I couldn't resist passing up the cake! Guest guest
Oh he is such beautiful boy and what fun with the cake- lifted his feet up to put his toes in it-he has some weird foot fetish I swear! How did you figure ut he was allergic to dairy? Just curious? Beck
Guest guest
He was dx with allergies at 8 weeks. He had red dots all over and a lot of baby acne. His eczema presented in that fashion until he was about 6 mo. Actually I took him in for these skin issues and the dr dx the tort as soon as he walked in the room w/o even looking at him. He told me the bands were " unethical " prior to 10 to 12 months too! It was a bummer of a day. My baby needed pt and I needed to cut dairy out of my diet (nursing mom). I am a cheeseaholic too. Later I realized he was allergic to soy, chocolate, peanuts and eggs too. What a crazy diet I have had this past year! Guest guest
, will sometimes get like little red dots or very small pimples around his mouth- could this be allergies? It's not often, and he has/had minor bouts of ezcema. How do you go about finding what is the cause of the allergy? You said Dane is allergic to peanuts, dairy, soy, did you have to stick to one for a week and then see what happened? Thanks!

Guest guest
- I guess it could be allergies, but not necessarily. I think eczema is caused by food allergies about 75% of the time. Our dr said they think perhaps latex allergy may also cause it. My nephew has gotten a lttle eczema by his mouth 2 or 3 times. They never figured out what caused it. Since I am breastfeeding, I did an complete elimination diet. For about a month I only ate meat and veggies (sugar too!) w/o butter or seasoning. Then I started incuding things, one at a time. When his skin acted up, I knew he was allergic. Nobody can claim I don't love my son. I gave up chocolate and cheese for him! LOL! Dane is going to have a RAST test next week. It's an allergy test where they draw blood instead of doing all that poking. They are already drawing blood for a lead paint test (we live in an 80 yo house), so it's not a big deal. If you do a RAST b/f 12 months, you tend to get a lot of false positives. Guest guest
Yes. I had 7 lbs of baby weight to lose 2 weeks postpartum. It was all gone w/in about 10 days of completely eliminating milk (before I eliminated the others). I have been known to chew chocolate and spit it out and rinse out my mouth.
