I don't know if I've introduced myself yet. I originally posted as

ca_sweet_pea but thought I would use and ID that would include my

daughter .

is just about 5 months now and she was just casted for her STAR

band today. We first noticed that her head was getting flat on her

left side at about 2 months. She also had a strong preference for

laying her head on that side. At her 2 month appt the doctor said

that her head turning to the left was a reflex called the " fencing "

pose and that her head would round out as the reflex went away (at

about 4 months). My mother had been very concerned about her head

and did various research. She was convinced that had

torticollis. My husband and I told my mother what the doctor had

said about the " fencing " position and she just wanted me to keep an

eye on things.

's 4 month appt came and we saw a nurse practictioner instead of

the doctor. Right away she noticed 's flatness and also

suggested she may actually have tort. She referred us to a

neurologist. The neurologist examined and said that she didn't

have tort but definitely had a tight muscle that he wanted us to

stretch all day long. He also referred us to an orthotist to get

molded for a band.

Today, during 's casting the orthotist suggested we see a PT

about 's neck. We agreed and are now waiting to hear back from

the PT to schedule and appointment.

That's our story. I put some pics of in the album

under... Most of her pictures are when she is pretty messy (her

hair is hard to control) hehe. Hope you enjoy them.
