Guest guest
Hi Kim, My dd(11) has been diagnosed with OCD and the Bipolar. The weird thing is that she can take an SSRI without a mood stabilizer and not become manic. She has been diagnosed with Bipolar by six different doctors at different hospitals and practices. After seeing my son's behaviors, bad reactions to SSRI's, and " bad thoughts' or hallucinations " I would swear he is much more " classic Bipolar " than my daughter. My ds has been diagnosed with OCD " bad thought " type, and the doctor is considering adding the mood disorder nos to it, but reluctant, seeing my ds is only 6. In reference to your question, after thinking about this, my ds has been off meds totally for only a few days, and he never went back to his old self. He is just as manic on the anti-psychotics as on the SSRI's, and the same without anything, and like I said, he was always a calm , quiet little boy until the day he took his first dose of Zoloft. He's never been the same since. I guess it does sound like Bipolar too. I am constantly trying to analyze these kids diagnosis's. Sorry for rambling! It's just they are so different! Guest guest
Hi Kim, I saw in your other post you were wondering about the Klonopin. I have been on Klonopin for almost 20 years.(I had to go off of it during my pregnancies though) It is the only thing that has helped my panic attacks. On another note, the ER said my ds had an allergic reaction to the Trileptal, so his psychiatrist wants him on Depakote next. I don't want him on that, but we may have to.
