Guest guest
Hi! Becky: Yes. They do have a clinic in Palo Alto for StarBand. But first you have to see a plastic surgeon (Dr. Schendel) at Lucile Packard Children Hospital at Stanford, phone number 650-724-4260. It depends whether your grandchild is with HMO or PPO. If she is with HMO, then you need to get a referral from her ped. Dr. Schendel will evaluate whether she needs a STARband, if she needs it, he will write a prescription. The Orthotist will be in the doctor office, once you have the prescription, the orthotist will made an appointment with you for the scan of her head shape to made the band. My son will be 6 month-old next week and he will see Dr. Schendel today one more time to see if he needs a STARband. He went to see him when he was 4-month old and the situation was mild that time, the doctor said we could wait until he is six month old to reevluate again. BTW, the wait for Dr. schendel is pretty long. You're expecting about a 6-week wait if you made appointment today. Let me know if need further information. Lim > yes, you are correct.
