Guest guest
Hi Ori & welcome to our group! It's always nice to hear of a pediatrician who alerts parents of their baby's head flattening early on as yours did, this is quite rare. My pediatrician told me the same thing as yours did about my daughter's head at just her 2 week chk up.. I am from Michigan so have no Stanford info for you, I think I've heard it mentioned in our group before, you can type in " Stanford " into our Search Archive seciton & see if anything comes up. I would see what the plastic surgeon recommends about seeing a pediatric neurosurgeon after you see him on Friday.....many of our parents do take their plagio babies to a ped. neuro for a complete evaluation. Often, ped. neuros will recommend a CT scan or X rays to rule out craniosynostosis (premature fusion of skull bones). Good luck on Friday. You can visit www.plagiocephaly.org/support then click " questions for the Dr " ....there's a great list of questions you can print to take to Friday's appt.. Please let us know how your appt goes. Guest guest
Dear Ori, I believe your son is going to the Lucile Packard Children Hospital. The clinic has both plastic surgeon and neurosurgeon. Even though you made appointment with plastic surgeon, your son might not see the doctor you made appointment with. Whoever is on duty that day is going to see your son. For example, my son went their for two times. We made appointment with Dr. Schendel. First time was a plastic surgeon showed up called Dr. Kahn, the second time was a nuerosurgeon. Anyway, my son case is mild so we didn't go with the helmet. Good luck to you.
