Guest guest
, That is awesome!!! Reid was so adorable in his band, so it's good to hear that he enjoyed it as well. And 75-80% correction is amazing. I remember when he got his band, and you didn't think he'd even get 50% correction. I bet you are so glad you went ahead with a band!!! Way to go Reid! Gail, Sam and Sara's mom, DOC grads Older Child- Grad from DOC Band! Just wanted to share with you all, and to hopefully help anyone out there who has an older child and is debating Band Treatment. Our son Reid graduated from his DOC Band Treatment today! He was fitted for his band at 19 months after a few agonizing weeks deciding if we should do it or not- not sure if it would help at all at his age, would he accept it? We, like many other parents had taken our ped's advice at 4 months and 'let it shape out on its own'. At 18mos we just were questioning if we had done the right thing. Why did we wait so long?? We just kept going back to our ped's advice, and we were seeing it round out some, so it was kind of encouraging. However, the flat spot was still visible to US.. so began our journey that led us to Cranial Tech. To make a very long story short-Reid LOVED his band and we did see some very noticeable correction. He wore it 4.5 months- he will be 2 in October. He actually grew out of it, and we realize we were lucky, because Reid did hit a growth spurt, but we never would have known if we hadn't tried it!! The Ped. Neurosurgeon said it looks like 75-80% correction to him. We are so happy with the results. Good luck to anyone out there that may read this and find it helpful!Reid - DOC Band Grad!!
