Guest guest
Actually, I found his name on the CAPPSkids web site as a plagio friendly NS who refers for helmet therapy. I refuse to travel two hours to be turned away and told I am crazy. He is the chief pediatric neurosurgeon at The University of Chicago. Thanks so much for the information. I have a feeling he will do a CT or x-rays simply because my current ped thinks I am nuts and we just switched to him after the ped that dx her left a week later. Needless to say, I was very upset because we really liked her and she agreed with my observation of tort and plagio. Keep your fingers crossed that things will go okay for us. I want some answers and every day that goes by I get more frustrated because it's time that is slipping away for to get her head taken care of. Taryn 's mom Re: What to expect at 's neuro appt.? Taryn,At 's NS appt all he did was feel her head. I had the CT scans done prior to her appt, he looked at those also. He'll either just look at and feel her head. Or he'll order a CT scan or x-rays. Is he a"plagio friendly" NS? I took to 2 different NS and didn't get anywhere with either of them. We have a Hanger company out here by me also. I didn't go with them (even though there much, much closer) b/c I didn't hear anything good about them. Only negative. That's not to say the Hanger by you is bad. If you use them make sure you interview the orthotist to make sure he or she is familiar with plagio. Ask him or her how many babies they've treated, do they have before and after pics to show you.Good luck,> What should I expect when we go to 's neurosurgeon appt.? Will he do a CT scan or x-rays? I have no clue what we should expect to be done and if we should bring any distraction items for her or what. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I noticed also we have a Hanger in town her that says prosthetics and orthotics on their sign. Does anyone know if they make helmets and about how much they cost if anyone has dealt with them? It would be so nice to be here locally since we will have to take her back there often. > > Taryn> 's momFor more plagio info
Guest guest
Thanks for the advice. I sure will give a kiss and hug from you and and you do the same. I will keep everyone posted about her appt. when it comes. It just seems that every day drags now and feels like we will never be at the 26th. She does start PT on Thurs. for her tort so we are pretty stoked about that. Taryn 's mom Re: What to expect at 's neuro appt.? Hi Taryn,'s appointment was very quick and hassle free. The neurologist felt 's head, looked her over thoroughly and then prescribed her band. No CT or x-ray was ordered, I think mainly because her condition was pretty obvious. Hope that input helps.I can't wait for you to get to your appointment. It is such a relief as each hurdle is jumped. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice..'s appt. is on the 26th of Sept. I am getting very anxious about going there. Taryn 's mom Re: What to expect at 's neuro appt.? Taryn,Our neuro never ordered CT scans or X-rays. He pretty much felt their heads a lot, and measured the head circumference. My twins sutures were obviously still open when we saw him, so he knew by observation only that we were dealing with plagio instead of cranio. My neuro also checked to see how well they were able to follow objects, turn their heads, and if theycould put weight on their feet. They were five and a half months at our initial visit and we were sent home with instructions to continue aggressively repositioning for another month and then go back for another evaluation. When is 's appointment again?NikiKaylie & Danny (STAR grads)Phila., PA> What should I expect when we go to 's neurosurgeon appt.?
