I think the above comment was probably based on the Doc thinking that with pt, the neck will be worked out, which will then help in preventing plagio. Ok Doc, but, the months in between where there is still pt work to be done, will not be easy in keeping off that flat spot, so it could actually worsen through time (our case). My Doctor told me the same things, and after we decided against her advice and opted for the band, once treatment was over, she was so amazed at the results!! She tells us it was the best decision now! I have learned so much from that experience! I think your right on track by going with your instincts- these Docs look at our kids for 5 minutes and think they've seen it all- when we are with them 24/7 and can tell them more about our kids than they'll ever care to hear. Sorry, getting off on a rant, but just wanted to say I think your wonderful for continuing to do pt even though the Docs say not to- you are one smart cookie!! I'll attach a link with some exercises/hold if this might help also. Good luck and please keep us posted! If I can help you in anyway, let me know! Guest guest
Way to go, and I bet you are beat from the whole process. Best of luck on the PT. We just started Thurs. and it's such a weight lifted off my shoulders to know we are now in action and getting things taken care of. You are making a very good choice!!! Bravo to you for following your instincts and please keep us posted on 's progress. Taryn 's mom Survived Casting Well, we survived the casting yesterday. was a real trooper. She only had to put the first piece on 3 TIMES!!!. After that he did really well. :)We also went to see an Orthopaedic surgeon on Wednesday and finally got a diagnosis for Tort. I knew he had tort as well as the Plagio and I can't believe it has taken me 5 doctors to get all of this settled. The Ortho is having us do physical therapy. (We actually got an appt. next week. I'm so excited). He hates the helmets though. He seems to think that the Plagio will work itself out with the PT. Crazy! The Neurosurgeon saw nothing wrong with his neck and sent us to get the band alone. Well.....I have decided that we are doing BOTH. We are getting the DocBand (our fitting is on the 23rd) and we are doing PT (we start that on the 18th). Thanks for all you advice and support!
