i'm about to do what Taryn is doing-setting an appt w/o a referral

if Dr. Day is okay with that...i'm frustrated as well & i can't wait

any longer!!..these Doctors!!..i just wish it was easy as braces...so

if Dr. Day doesn't need a referral, I would be sooooooo happy even IF

i had to pay out of my own pocket!!

I am glad I could be an inspiration to someone!!! I am like you...so tired of waiting for someone else to decide when is a good time for to get better. I am her mommy and I should be that person and not be at the mercy of insurance companies and doctors who think I am nuts. I called my insurance to see if this neuro was in my network (we have a PPO insurance) and he was so he didn't need a referral. I pay my $15 copay and the rest is covered 100%.

I am glad that our insurance works the way it does with doctors in the network. It does remain to be seen if they will pay for banding if it's required for . My husband and I are both of the mind that no matter if they pay or not if the doctor requires it it will be done. We will not stop getting the care she needs just over that matter. Funny you should mention braces....I just got braces almost 2 years ago and I paid an arm and a leg for that!!! My husband's dental insurance wouldn't cover a penny so we were stuck with the almost $2500 cost of that. I know exactly how you feel.

Call your insurance company to find out if you need a referral. If your insurance company won't cover it without a referral, it's still pretty affordable. If I remember correctly, it was less than $200 for the visit (maybe more like $150), but that may have been the contracted price with my insurance company.
