Guest guest
Thanks ! The bacterial infection started on the back of her neck. Her band was rubbing A LOT. It did spread to her head and neck. The doctor said that from her scratching..(as soon as I take her band off she attacks the back of her head and neck, scratching like crazy!)she must of scratched too hard and made a scrap/cut. Then she sweated into it, causing a bacterial infection. It wasn't a pretty sight. Her whole head it just dry skin now. It looks horrible. I've been putting baby lotion on it.. it's not helping. I'm going to try baby oil. That should be fun with all the hair she has! > > Hi All, > > I thought it was time to update you all on . Guest guest
Thanks , I've heard of infants 4-6 months old out growing it in 2 months. But never a 13 month old! You would think, if she did out grow it in just 2 months, that she'd have some nice correction. But no. I'm just so confused. Guest guest
, Keep fighting and don't give up. Hey what kind of bb lotion do you use? I used cetaphil (which is really good for eczema); it's gentle on bb's skin. I hope the Ct specialist will work with you some how and everything will start going smooth again. Just hang in there and don't give uuuuuuupppp!! -mary > > > Hi All, > > > I thought it was time to update you all on . Guest guest
Yea...that's what i was saying too..if she outgrew it..then wouldn't she have gotten good correction? I really don't understand....But i hope that in the next 2 weeks has better growth and Charlotte says she was wrong... Guest guest
Dane has eczema and still had cradle cap when he was banded. Everytime we gave him a bath, we used Aveeno oatmeal in the pouches. We wold make a paste out of it and put it on his head. It needs to be rinsed well, but my goodness that head shined! He never had any skin issues while banded. Dane's mom DOC Grad > > > > Hi All, > > > > I thought it was time to update you all on . Guest guest
: I was so hoping to hear a good update about 's head rounding : ( I can understand why you are so frustrated & discouraged. If you haven't seen any improvment while in her band, then I have to agree with you, how could she have outgrown it already? And if you haven't see growing all that much while in the band, then I would too be surprised if she has outgrown it. I really don't remember hearing of any baby's 's age outgrowing their band in just 2 mos., I know my Abby didn't. What type of bacterial infection did she get? That's scary. Did ever get a CTscan or Xray done to rule out cranio? Sorry, I can't remember for sure. If not, then you might want to consider getting one done, just to be absolutely positive. Not trying to scare you here at all, I remember when Abby's STARband didn't work, people kept telling me to get her another Xray or CTscan done (she had one before her treatment), oh and I totally freaked out & panicked! I can see why you are ready to give it up, especially with all the skin irritations & such, and now with no improvement. BUT, hang in there, for at least one more month and pray some rounding starts. Hugs to you......keep your chin up. Debbie Abby's mom DOCgrad MI > Hi All, > I thought it was time to update you all on . Guest guest
Hey Debbie, I really don't know what type of bacterial infection she had. She was on antibiotics for 2 weeks. Yes, had a CT scan done and I took the scans to 2 different ped NS. I'm very confused. Like I said, I know she hasn't grown enough to out grow her band!! I think she's gained a little over a pound in 2 months time. I was telling Niki, that the reason had the CT scans done was b/c her head was growing faster than her body and her fontanal(sp?) was very small. The CT scan was done to rule out cranio. Her fontanal is closed and has been since around the time she got her band. Could that be why, her head isn't improving? I know when I go back in 2 weeks, I'm going to be told she needs another band. It's shifting just like it was before Charlotte adjustd it again. Poor looks like a pirate. It covers her right eye. I just hope that if she does need a second band so soon, it'll be the last one she needs! But at the rate she is improving.. I don't see that happening. I think I'm going to write to Tim Littlefield and see what he thinks. Thanks so much Deb, I'd be lost without you all! > > Hi All, > > I thought it was time to update you all on .
