Guest guest
I posted this a couple of days ago with Ursula's post about her daughter. We are a bit befuddled about this and are not sure what to think. Maggie (9 with CID) developed a small area on the pad of her thumb that looks like a healing 1st degree burn. It is a little red....and a little cracked looking in the middle. It started about 2 months ago and was tiny.....the size of a pig pin head when she mentioned it to us. It is growing. It is now indented, like the tissue underneath is dying and is now the size of a pencil eraser and is painful. It is not like an infection in that it is now swollen, hot and red....it literally looks like a healing 1st degree burn....that is indented and growing. She has not been well and is having labs run locally tomorrow at the orders of our immunologist from far away. It is just the strangest thing and it is really bothering her. I wondered if she got bit by a spider....but we are 2 months into it now and usually spider bites tend to raise, not indent. We though about a sliver that may be infected, but there does not appear to be anything in it and a sliver usually gets raised as it builds scar tissue as your body tried to reject it. I tried to take a picture of it, but cannot get one to come out as it is too blurry taking a close up of it. Just wonder if anyone has ideas here? Our poor GP is such a trooper and it is just one more thing to put on his plate. He has been fantastic and is contacting the immunologist with any problems. I wish I could get a picture to send to the immuno. We were able to do this with her tongue problems and it worked well and he knew exactly what we were talking about when he saw the photo. Guest guest
Well, I guess I should proof read before posting! LOL. Of course, it is not the size of a " pig pin head " (whatever that might be), but a BIG pin head. Also, it is NOT swollen (the typo said it is " now " swollen).....It is NOT swollen.
