Hi my name is Yesenia. I'm currently dealing with my 6 month old baby

he has plagio. I was fighting with my insurance carrier to pay for

the baby's band and after 2 months of struggling the insurance

decided to deny everything. I was soooo upset. my child really needs

this.If there is someone out there who can give me advice please do

so.I really need someone to talk to.

Hi Yesenia,

Welcome to the group. You have found a wealth of info from parents going

through the same insurance battles that you are facing- many have had to pay

out of pocket and appeal, some have won, some haven't. I know that others

have had successful fund raisers to help pay for the band, and some churches

and the Shriners Club have been helpful in raising money as well. I know

that you will get a ton of advice from all the experts here who have tons of

experience in dealing with ins. companies not paying, so just want to say

good luck, keep fighting the good fight if you feel your child will benefit

from the band, and keep us posted on your progress. In the meantime, try to

encourage tummy time and reposition off that flat spot as much as possible.

APPEAL, APPEAL, APPEAL!!! Yesenia, both of my twins wore DOC bands and our insurance has denied us through 3 appeals already, but I have one left and I'm fighting all the way. Let us know who your insurance company is and what the denial reasons were and we should be able to help. We'd like to know more about your baby as well. Hang in there and never give up.

What type of ins. do you have? Why have they denied coverage?

Would you tell us more about your plagio baby? What type of band is

he/she in? Have you seen good rounding yet?
