Guest guest
Kristi: At last! will be on his way to a rounder head very very soon! I'm glad to hear the casting is now behind you & went well. Let us know how he adjusts to wearing the band when he gets it. Thanks for the update. I would also like to take back what I said in my last post; dh and I were wrong - and Micheal were in fact working on Sat (there were several others there) I still am not sure about the FedX thing, tho. Oh well, it doesn't matter. The casting is done and now we are anxiously awaiting the band. Maybe by the 14th???? Thanks to all you well wishers re: my last post. Guest guest
Kristi, I noticed that your son is 11 months. I'm kinda new to this group. I was wondering, Is this your son's first band? What exactly is wrong? Does he have flattening on the back of his head? That's what my son has due to low muscle tone and not being able to sit up. I thought he was old to be getting his band,(10 months, just about) but It seems more and more as I read post's from people that it's not all that uncommon. Thanks a bunch, Tara

Guest guest
Thanks a bunch Kristie!! My son 's cranial doc said he is just about at the severe stage for his flattening. It's basically just on the back of his head that the flattening is. His sides bulge out on both sides of his head because it's basically growing outward on the sides. He is about 30% wider from side to side than from front to back. It's good to know that people have had success starting at such a late age. I am in the process of changing my son's pediatrician today because should have been referred a long time ago. Uggggg! Some doctors. But thanks for the advice and best of luck with your little man. Guest guest
Tara, My son's head is flat on the back right side (we believe due to tort and sleeping in his infant carrier b/c of bronchiolitis). His ears are misaligned and the right side of his face seems to " bulge " out compared to the left. We first noticed it at 3mos but it has taken us this long to get the prescription for the band. His is relatively mild according to the docs and CT people, but we feel it is bad enough to warrant treatment. According to Cranial Tech and several parents here, it is not too late. He has been casted, but we don't have the band it yet. Hopefully this weekend. I don't know how severe your son's flattening is, but if you act NOW, I bet you can get at least some correction. The orthotist at the CT clinic we are going to thinks well be out of the band in 4-5 mos w/o needing a second band. Debbie (debbieandabby) started treatment with her daughter - who was considered severe, at 11 1/2mos, I believe, and got great correction. There are pictures posted on one of the sites (plagiocephaly.org or Cappskids.org) Debbie - help!! Good Luck to you. Kristi (4) and (11 mos) > Kristi, > I noticed that your son is 11 months.
