Guest guest
: Yeah, this is a tough one for sure! I've seen many plagio or brachy babies but I have never had the courage to go up & talk to the parent about it. I am somewhat shy (shocking I know!) and I just could not ever come up with the right way to go about it. I have told Abby's daycare provider about 2 other babies in Abby's class who have had plagio - but their mom's already knew about it after seeing Abby in her band for so long. Happily, repoing worked for those babies. So whether or not you should approach would be entirely up to you. I was always afraid I'd get a mean woman who wuold just go off on me or something! But then again, you might really really help a mom or dad who always wondered just what was wrong with their baby's head. Guest guest
Debbie - When Dane was in his band, it was much easier to tell moms about it. A couple of times I would just go up to them and say " He's in this because he has a flat spot on his head. " I would pretend they were checking out his band to begin with and I would explain it. Hey, most people were looking anyway! I think I have done it once since he graduated. I just started talking to a mom about something else (to ease into it) then I mentioned his apnea, reflux, tort and plagio. I was quite discreet, but she did ask a lot of questions. I didn't give her my #, so I don't know what happened! Dane's mom DOC Grad > > Hey everyone, > > Today, I saw a cute little baby. Guest guest
Thanks Debbie & rachel, You know it WOULD be easier if De was in her band, then i could do what you & rachel could do.. That baby that i saw really had an enormous head bc of his plagio. i couldn't help but just wander around stocking the lady just to ? myself if i should/shouldn't tell her. I tell my co-workers about my baby & they probably think i'm weird... & i have to say i am ALL aware of ALL the babies who come into Dillards ( by the way, dillards ins. is Cigna, but i'm only part- time). just thought i'd share. -mary > > > Hey everyone, > > > Today, I saw a cute little baby. Guest guest
Yeah, I know that I would have loved someone to tell me at 1 month about his tort, and I would have hopped on here even sooner. But unfortunately, some parents go about this differently, and refuse to notice what's happening. I would not let my friend's reactions about the info stop me from telling other friends about plagio/tort, I would do it all again in a second! Guest guest
I have a big mouth and get myself into a ton of trouble because I speak before I think. I have approached a friend about plagio before and she was great. It was at the early stage so it quickly rounded out. However, I think being at work and a customer. I would not have said anything. It's sad but jobs are not a easiest thing to get right now. I did send some information out about tummy time, tort and plagio to my hubby's cousin and wife. Well the wife sent me an email thanking me for the information. She had never been told about any of it before (not a surprise) and was happy to get the information. So there are people who do want this information. To bad not everyone is so receptive. Heidi > Hey everyone, > Today, I saw a cute little baby.
