Jill-

Don't freak out. I know that's easier said than done. Wait to see

what the specialist says. Tommy is at such a young age, early

intervention can do wonders. I remember reading amazing things that

were happening with EI with kids.

I have a touch of OCD. I am a freak at locking the doors. I have a

routine of checking them about 5 times b/f going to bed. When Dane

wakes up at night, I come and check them again. It doesn't

interfere with my life, just annoying to me. My older bro has a

special pacing routine. Drove me nuts growing up. The carpet in

his house is worn out in the line where he paces. I think it helps

calm him.

Good luck at the appt and the PT too.

Jill:

So sorry to hear this :( At the very least, IF in fact he does have

tourettes syndrome, now you know & can address it accordingly. With

you having it yourself, you are familiar with it & what can be done

to help and such.

Hang in there, I can only imagine how frightening this all is. How

is Gavin, does he have any similar issues to Tommy?

Jill,

Sorry to hear that Tommy will need PT again. I hope this time around

does the trick, and he builds that right side up!

Also sorry to hear about the OCD and Tourette's. I didn't realize

that OCD could be diagnosed as early as 20 months. What other habits

does he do that are deemed 'not normal'? I'm sorry for my ignorance,

but how is Tourette's treated? Is it something that just comes on?

Like did you suddenly get it when you were 19, or was it something

that went undiagnosed that long?

I tease my hubby a lot that he has OCD, like , he checks the

locks at least ten times. And even though our van has a remote lock,

he'll still walk around the van a few times in a parking lot, or once

we're in a store, he'll walk back to the van, even though he knows

its locked. And my quirk is plastic bags, they have to be folded in

thirds length-wise, and then in thirds again before I put them in the

drawer. Drives me up a wall if they're not done properly.

Good luck Jill!
