Guest guest
Hi, I wrote a couple of days ago regarding the frustration I was having with pediatricians here in Tucson. Well, I finally fixed that and made an appointment with a new pediatrician who I am extremely happy with. She seems to be a lot more personable and is very gentle with my son. She agreed that he should be seen by a pediatric neurologist and was going to give me a referral but I was called today by the neurologist's office and they had a cancellation so we are going in to see the Dr. tomorrow. It is definitely a lot better than having to wait until NOvember, which was the date of our original appointment. Can anyone tell me exactly what the Dr. does at the neurologist appointment? Will he do anything that will make my son upset or uncomfortable or does he just examine his head? Do they always orders CAT scans even if my pediatrician was almost positive that my son has plagiocephaly and not craniosynostosis? I have no idea what to expect and want my son to go through the least amount of discomfort as possible,as all mothers do I suppose! Thanks for any information. Guest guest
Hi : That is wonderful you have your appt already tomorrow with the specialist, that all worked out perfect for you Also happy to hear you have a new pediatrician that you like. That makes a ton of difference. My daughter saw a ped. neurosurgeon, at that appt he simply looked her over, took several photographs from every angle of her head & discussed helmet therapy with us. Abby had Xrays done prior to seeing the specialist that ruled out cranio. so we didn't need to worry about that any more. Check out this link for questions to ask the specialist at yuor appt tomorrow: http://www.plagiocephaly.org/support/questions.htm Good luck & please let us know how it goes.
