Guest guest
This is really strange. had a really good weekend. Friday was a really bad day but Saturday was pretty good and today was excellent. Saturday she seemed to eat almost normally and had only a few spitting episodes. Today, I only noticed her to spit twice. Breakfast was a challenge but lunch was a Baptism celebration for my nephew and she ate 3/4 of a slice of pizza, a ton of fruit, and a piece of cake. She played well with all the kides and her tantrums were minimal. She is now watching her cartoons and eating leftover cake. I noticed no excessive handwashing the past two days. Is this common with OCD to have some really, really good days and then some bad ones? It will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings when we are back to the same hum drum day. We had a really busy weekend with lots of parties for to look forward to and I am sure that helped.
Guest guest
YES! Comes in waves. Also, since she had lots of positive distractions I would bet that did help. Distraction seems to be critical for my son. Glad you had a good weekend. So appreciate the good days when they come! Barb > > This is really strange. had a really good weekend. Guest guest
Hi, . It's so nice to have those good days. ) I'm happy for you. I totally agree with Barb. . . Enjoy them while they are there, AND she's right, the distractions always help. OCD waxes and wanes. Sometimes you have good days here and there, and sometimes it will get better for a long period of time, then flare again. That has been our experience. This time around, for us, we are trying to get our son all the tools he needs, through qualified therapy, so he knows how to fight it to try to keep it under control. And, also so he will know what to do when it gets bad. It's a scary thought, but someday he will have to deal with this on his own, and we will be doing him a big favor to help him understand it the best he can and learn how to cope with it.
