Guest guest
Don't think I've experienced anything out of the ordinary as far as early menopause goes. I'm 46 and facing fibroid problems and probably a myomectomy. Don't think it's related to the RA, though. gloria
Guest guest
Yes, I am fighting dryness and menopause also. I believe the hormones are all related with the RA also. I am steering away from traditional HRT and using some natural progesterone cream. Just saw somebody new and got a compounded mixture customized for me with combination of things. I have made some headway for sure. Still looking for my sex drive! Ha! Send it home if you find it!!!! Guest guest
I am 39 and my doctor says I'm in early stages of Menapause. I was diagnosed just a couple years ago with RA, and I'm very dry now and my sex drive is nothing. (poor hubby!) Guest guest
S, I'm kind of wondering when your really in that stage, and how you know also. I have sjogren's syndrome, so that dry's you out. Then I have no sex drive, but it's do to the Zoloft that I take. I am very moody, but that goes with the territory, lol This is a very good topic, maybe someone can share some light on it. > Anyone else experience some early symptoms of menopause from RA? > Saw the gynecologist today and got a funky device for delivering > estrogen locally. Guest guest
Hi Snowdrift, My GP told me the same thing, I was on HRT for abpout 3 years then had to stop as I was having an operation. After the op he stopped the HRT as he said there was little risk of osteoporosis and advised me to try natural methods for coping with the menopause. I bought a book , I will dig the title out for you if you like, it's been my bible for the last 18 months, and it does work, bonus is, my RA seems a bit better because of the change in diet etc. Lynne
Guest guest
I don't think I'm having early menopause (I'll be 39 later this month) but I have noticed that I have a problem with dryness. I, too was wondering if RA had something to do with dryness (I use KY or Astroglide...Walmart & Kmart have their brand of personal lubricants). I have also noticed that I'm never really in " the mood " to get intimate with my husband. I love him dearly; he's a wonderful man. I'm on Methotrexate, Plaquenil, Naproxen, Medrol & Darvocet (I'm also taking Folic Acid & a calcium supplement). I honestly think it's either the RA and/or the medication that has zapped those feelings. I haven't mentioned anything about this to my Rheumatologist or my OB/GYN. > Anyone else experience some early symptoms of menopause from RA? > Saw the gynecologist today and got a funky device for delivering > estrogen locally.
