Guest guest
Hi friends, Has there been any discussion here of the affects of Green Tea on RA? Check this link: <http://www.cwru.edu/pubaff/univcomm/grn-tea.htm>. Dh, who has RA, used to regularly drink Green Tea and quit. We didn't know anything about RA then and we might need to go back to drinking Green Tea??? I do have another thought. We finally got dh's blood tests back and the rheumatoid factor test came back as a 56. Can anyone direct me as to how to interpret that number in a meaningful way? I did go to some of the websites mentioned when I first joined, but am uncertain as to how to interpret the number. TIA, Nita ~~Pain is a great teacher. Guest guest
Thanks, Jacy. Your explanation was very helpful. I am familiar with Sjögren's. I have friends with that diagnosis as well as lupus and FM. I'm hoping that my dh doesn't have to deal with Sjögren's, but we will take it as it comes. Guest guest
Hi everyone, A friend recomended a tea called Red Bush tea to me. I tried it reluctantly as I don't like ordinary tea or green tea, but, this one is really nice, it's a bit sweeter that green tea too. Guest guest
Does it have the same good properties that green tea does? I can see how easy it is gonna be for me to get hooked on this stuff. Guest guest
Has to beat all the coffee I am drinking I drink a lot of coffee too, especially in the morning. During the day I drinker cooler drinks. In fact there are only 3 things I regularly drink...coffee, iced green tea, and water. I drink a lot of water! But my iced green tea is my favorite. They recommend drinking 10 cups of green tea a day and there is no way I could never drink 10 cups of hot tea but I can easily drink 10 glasses of iced tea. I get a box of 100 organic green tea bags and make a jug at least 3-4 times a week. I use about 12 teabags per batch. Gloria
Guest guest
I am not an iced tea drinker at all but I will try the green tea iced. Thanks for sharing that. I didn't used to be one either, Toni. I just decided I wanted a way to get some green tea down me so I invented this tea. At first I used to put a little honey in it. Then I started leaving out the honey and just put the frozen fruit in it. Drinking it can become quite a habit but not an addiction. Just make sure the tea becomes quite strong so that you can reap the benefits of it. I turn off the heat and let the bags sit in the pot covered for a few hours before I strain it. Guest guest
Thanks again. I always did like my tea strong when I used to drink it and always left the bag in. I am not much of a fruit person at all..sadly but am willing to try that. You don't have to put anything in it if you don't want to. You could just squeeze a lemon into it or drink it plain. I just use frozen fruit in bags that I buy in the grocery store. I throw a couple of cups of the mixed fruit in the gallon of tea. That is an option. If you want it plain, that's fine, too. I just like a little zing to my iced tea;-). Gloria
Guest guest
Gloria, Sounds good and I can't see why it would be any more beneficial hot then cold. I am not a cold drinker with the exception of my beer. Sorry but I love my beer and only have it on the weekend IF my guyfriend is here because I like the taste otherwise I do not buy it as it would become a habit(plus I cannot afford it) . When I drink water I drink alot and it's funny because I know when I do not do enough as I start to have female issues which for some weird reason have become more frequent. LOL could be just a forties thing or maybe just a Toni thing as these days nothing much shocks me. I am not an iced tea drinker at all but I will try the green tea iced. Thanks for sharing that. Hope you have a wonderful Friday Toni I drink a lot of coffee too, especially in the morning. During the day I drinker cooler drinks. I am not much of a fruit person at all..sadly but am willing to try that. What type of fruit(s)do you put in there? It seems the only thing I can tolerate are bananas and right now I am at that "they make me sick" stage. I guess sometimes too much of a good thing is well...not good Maybe I will like the tea like this. Perhaps I just have the awful powder in the containers in my mind. I am willing to try. At least I am not as stubborn as everyone else I know though of course they will debate that too Toni I didn't used to be one either, Toni. Guest guest
Do you strain the fruit out after you steep the tea? I drink some green tea but find it on the bitter side so I have to drink it on the weak side. mary You don't have to put anything in it if you don't want to. Guest guest
my mom really needs to know this, will de-caffeinated green tea work as well as the caffeinated? The caffeine in the green tea makes her ill when she drinks it, but would like to drink it due to the antirheumatory aid. Please let us know as soon as you can. Thanks,
Guest guest
From the article I sent to the group, there are 2 methods from removing the caffeine from the green tea. Only the effervescence method, keeps the tea healthy. That was a superb question, too! Guest guest
Some other Rheumatism fix its I thought I'd share: Birch bark, peppermint, nettle, black cohosh, dandelion, sunflower, magnolia, eucalyptus, yerba santa, wintergreen and licorice root. My favorite by far is mullein tea with peppermint leaves added in. Citrine and obsidian will help balence out her energy. Juniper oil massaged around her 12th dorsal will relieve a lot of blockages. Many miraculous blessings and lots of love, Kat > > my mom really needs to know this, will de-caffeinated green tea work as > well as the caffeinated?
