Guest guest
Hi , Does Dane have eczema on his scalp too? Did you use the Aveeno Soothing Bath Oatmeal or the Aveeno Soothing Baby Bath Oatmeal? Did you use the whole package at one time? Did you use it before or after you shampooed his hair? I'm sorry for all the questions, but I really want to KEEP in this band! :-) Thanks, > > Hi all, > > Well got recasted today. It wasn't as bad as Charlotte or I > > thought it was going to be. Guest guest
- Either one is fine. We switched back and forth. Honestly, I think they are the same thing. They just get to charge more when they put " baby " on something. We also use it in the bathwater. We got about 2 uses out of each pouch. It is very gentle. We don't bath him every night. We put on Aquaphor all over after he comes out of the tub. Does have food allergies? More often than not, infantile eczema is caused by food allergies. Guest guest
, Thanks for the advice. I'm definitley going to do everything that you suggested. The Dr put her on DesOwen lotion for 10 days. I really want her scalp to be back to normal before she gets her band. I don't think she has any food allergies. How would I know if she was allergic to something? Eczema can be caused by a food allergy? Aquaphor is a lotion? Once again, I'm sorry for all the questions. Thanks, > > > > Hi all, > > > > Well got recasted today. It wasn't as bad as Charlotte > or > > I > > > > thought it was going to be. Guest guest
- Aquaphor is an ointment. Some people mix hydrocortisone cream with it. We just use it straight and used the cream on flare ups. I would not use the Aquaphor under the band. Just wanted to clarify that. We lube him up after each bath, but never used it on his scalp. I think has hair, right, so Aquaphor on the scalp would be NASTY! Food allergies do cause eczema. Dane's only acts up if he eats (or I eat b/c I'm nursing him) something he is allergic to. When we avoid these foods, his skin looks great. From all the info I have gotten from the dr., infantile eczema is related to food allergies over 50% of the time. You can ask your ped to do a RAST allergy test to check this out. They draw blood and send it off to the lab rather than poking the back with possible allergens. Dane is allergic to soy, milk, egg and peanuts. We have to read labels and avoid even minut amounts. Hopefully the prescription will help so that her scalp will be ready for the new band. Guest guest
Thanks ! I'm going to ask my ped about the RAST allergy test. You've been a great help! Guest guest
Aquaphor is not really a " lotion. " It's a petroleum based ointment kind of thing that comes in a 16 oz jar. It goes on real nice. The exact name is Aquaphor Healing Ointment by Eucerin. I buy the CVS knock-off brand because it's 6 bucks cheaper. This stuff is pricey! It's at any drugstore. -/Logan 7.5 months > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > Well got recasted today. It wasn't as bad as Charlotte > > or > > > I > > > > > thought it was going to be. Guest guest
also had a bout with ezcema, not very bad, so the Doc would never prescribe anything. Just the oatmeal baths helped, and she had us use Dove body wash, which seems to have helped also. ' Mom
Guest guest
, We also used Kerry oil on his scalp when he had it very bad (although this was pre band), let is soak for a bit than gave him a bath, it would start coming off. Guest guest
Hi , Oh, and I only use soap once a week on his body. And it's > natural, non irritating stuff... What do you use instead of soap? Do you think I can use the Aveeno oatmeal, instead of soap? Thanks, > > Hi all, > > Well got recasted today. Guest guest
The derm recommended Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Lotion. I use the generic brand because this stuff is pricey too. I'm sure you could use the oatmeal instead. I haven't tried the oatmeal so I don't have personal exp, but it sounds good! I just ordered some baby bath from trustedcare.com. It's the all natural stuff I wrote about. It smells really good and it doesn't seem to bother him. -/Logan 7.5 mnths > > > Hi all, > > > Well got recasted today. Guest guest
We used the Cetaphil and a soft toothbrush on Dane's cradle cap (or cradle crap as I call it). That's some super gentle stuff too. We got the generic brand too. Dane's mom DOC Grad > The derm recommended Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Lotion. Guest guest
I remember the dermatolgist said that it is at it's worst at the infant/child stage. As they grow it will get better, but they will probably always have certain spots that are prone. I think Logan's ankles will always have it. -/Logan 7.5 months > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > Well got recasted today. It wasn't as bad as Charlotte > > or > > > I > > > > > thought it was going to be. Guest guest
LOL! I'm sure the cop would think you were rather nutty!! I'll never get the chance to show the NS her headsicles. I would need a referral to do that, and I can't see my ped giving me one, just so I could go show this Dr how wrong he was. When I took my 3.5 yo to the genetics doctor she told me that this Dr used to use helmets!!! The hospital he works for made them. But they found they didn't work. I told her that was probably because, they didn't know what they were doing. At least now I know why he is so anti-band. Maybe I'll take pics of them and mail them to him. > > > > Hi! > > > > Just thought I would share my good news. had an appt at > CT > > > > today.
