I don't believe that its caused by stress, I believe that its something in our bodies. Could you imagine the number of people with RA, if it was caused by stress, the whole world could be RA positive. I have RA/Osteoarthritis and degenerative arthritis in my lower back. I am in alot of pain 24/7, and I do have lots of stress in my life, but i can honestly say that the RA was there before the stress. I will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts, and hope that we all find that special medication that will work on our pain.Your friend~~
Guest guest
Hello , How are you? Guess you're not so good if you're here with us! Sorry to hear of your difficulties, but hang in there, and write when you can and we'll try to walk you through whatever you're going through. ~Spencer <pachelbel1949@...> wrote: Hi , While I agree that stress is not necessarily a fundamental cause of RA, I do believe it exacerbates the symptoms. My personal feeling is that each of us has our own particular triggers, and that there is not any one cause. With women, our hormones are also our enemy. I've had cyclic arthritis symptoms for years. Doctors just sort of shrugged it off. Gotta laugh!!! I've been at the mercy of my hormones for 42 years, and now the change is making life extremely interesting. Envy women who just seem to breeze through all those stages of womanhood. Menopause and major surgery all coming at once was my trigger, I believe. Hope your pain will soon be under control, as well as the stress. A vicious circle for sure!!! Guest guest
, I don't know if it was stress that activated my RA, but I do know for a fact that stress will bring on the worst flares I've ever had. When I first became symptomatic I was under some of the worst stress in my life, and I'm a Viet Nam vet!! Guest guest
I wonder if we are overlooking the fact that there are different types of stress: physical, mental, emotion and spiritual. Some stress we can handle a lot better than others. Guest guest
In the survey I referred to earlier there were people with each type of stress that they identified as " causing " (triggering) their RA. I don't remember how evenly it was divided but there were a lot of each with no one being outstanding. Many people had stress that could be classed in several categories. > > From: " Jacy " <jacymail@...> > Date: 2004/06/10 Thu PM 03:23:59 GMT > <Rheumatoid Arthritis > > Subject: RE: Re: RA caused by stress hummm? > > I wonder if we are overlooking the fact that there are different types of stress: > physical, mental, emotion and spiritual. > Some stress we can handle a lot better than others. >
