Decorating Frustration!

Well,

Our decorating story seems to resemble one made not too long ago. In

the last two days, we have painted the thing three different times.

We were still not happy with the outcome, so a couple hours ago I

peeled off the paint again. DH went back to s today to get

something different. I believe we have now have about $30 invested

in this!!! First we spray painted it, it took forever to dry. Then

as I was putting the stripe on - I laid it crooked and when I tried

to pull it up, it pulled up the paint. Since it took so long to dry

and hence was out of the band for several hours including

overnight, I decided to use the paint on acrylic stuff that dries in

1hr. I didn't like the color - so I mixed two colors together and

painted it. Then we tried to do the NY symbol and that was a

disaster. We finally got it to where we liked it, but needed to

touch up some of the base color. I was out of the stuff I mixed

before and we couldn't get a match (ugh!). Sooooo, I peeled it again

and started to paint it with the single color. I was up half the

night since this would be the second night he was out of it. I did

two coats, and the sealer and left it to dry. This morning I added

the stripe and when woke up, I put it on. I hated the way it

looked. You could see ALL the brush strokes and even some lighter

spots and it was horrible!!! SOOOOO, I peeled the paint again. DH

bought some new spray paint that is supposed to dry in 1hr, plus we

decided to use white contact paper to make the NY. We'll be starting

soon, I'll keep you all posted!!! Wish us luck, because however it

turns out this time is how it is staying!!!
