Hi everyone! I am one of the new ones here who has a 5 month old son in the STARband. We are still having some problems with the helmet shifting to the right and pressing one ear back and the other forward! UGH. Called the Ortho and waiting for a call back.

Anyway - we are a military family and we live in San , TX but we are moving to Panama City Beach, FL in two weeks. The problem we are running into here is we need to find an Ortho who does the STARband that is located near there. My son is only a little over a month into the helmet. The Ortho who we see (is a civilian) has had trouble finding someone in that area. Does anyone live in that area who knows of anyone! I am willing to drive far if necessary! I am stressing out! Especially since I found out that our insurance company already paid in full for the entire helmet and visits so this person would have to help us out I guess by finishing the job for free. My Ortho says that they do it for other people in my situation but it might be hard to find someone to do it. GREAT! Has anyone ever been in this situation? Thanks for your help!

Ethan (starband since Aug. 29)

Hi ,

Welcome to the group! You've already gotten some really good advice, so I

hope it can help you in your move to a new ortho. As for the band, its very

common for most to be a little loose starting out, they get more snug as

growth starts to happen. As long as it does not compromise Ethan's vision,

and the ear is not being cramped or pinched, the band should start fitting

better within a very short time since he's so young. My son also had the

misaligned ears and I am happy to say they are now perfectly aligned,

although one is just smaller in size. He also started at 5 months so I hope

you'll see the same progress. Good luck and I sincerely hope you can get

this mess straightened out so that the fittings will go smoothly from here to

graduation! Keep us posted!
