I had a very hard time finding experienced pt's that dealt in pediatrics- until I started calling hospitals. Call some of your local hospitals and ask for their outpatient pt office- then ask if they deal in pediatrics and most importantly with torticollis. It doesn't have to be a children's hospital, many good hospitals still have pediatric pts that are not special children's hospitals.

Encourage Siddharthe to look in the direction he does not favor with toys and really making him look that way towards the tv, etc., tummy time helps increase neck and upper body strength (also effected in tort). Try to prop his head midline as much as possible in car seats especially. These are just a few tips, plenty more if you have specific problems I can share with you. I will attach a link to a great website with some exercises and a good carrying hold that helps seperate the neck from the shoulder. Tort Stretches/ hold

(the side that Siddharthe is tilted towards, would be considered his tort side. For example, my son tilted left, so he had left tort. We had to work on stretching out that tight muscle, but also with the right in strengthening it so that it would be strong enough to pull that head midline once there was enough 'slack" or give to do so after we stretched it out. Don't worry because Siddharthe looked very mild and with my son being severe, we still accomplished resolve, so hang in there and keep the faith!

I'm not familiar with your area, but we are going through

the children's hospital system here and are having really great luck

with the PT. The PT we have sees at least two tort kids a day. It's

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. I dont know if they have anything

like that in you area......

I was born and raised in Mountain View! When I read your post I got a bit homesick, although I've now lived away from there longer than I actually lived there. My parents are still there - have been in the same house since 1960. I have a friend in Los Altos whose adopted baby has plagio, but my mom said that they are taking the "wait and see" approach and things seem to be rounding out. So I guess she's not going to pt. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for you and see if I hear of anybody in the area you could see.
