* CPSC Urges Seasonal Heating Systems Inspections to Prevent CO Deaths

As the weather turns colder throughout much of the country, the U.S. Consumer

Product Safety Commission (CPSC) urges consumers to have a professional

inspection of all fuel-burning heating systems - including furnaces, boilers,

fireplaces, water heaters and space heaters - to detect potentially deadly

carbon monoxide (CO) leaks.

* CPSC, Black & Decker Announce Recall of Cordless Electric Lawn Mowers

* CPSC, Nikon Inc. Announce Recall of Coolpix 2000-Model Digital Cameras

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Nikon

Inc., of Melville, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 9,100 Coolpix 2000-model

digital cameras imported into the United States. A short circuit can occur in

the battery compartment, creating a possible thermal burn hazard to consumers if

the battery compartment lid is touched.

* CPSC, Mc's Corp. and Bobble Dreams USA Announce Recall of Chicago Bears

Bobble Head Figurines

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC),

Mc's Corp., of Oak Brook, Ill., and Bobble Dreams USA of Fountain Valley,

Calif., are voluntarily recalling about 100,000 bobble head figurines. The paint

on some of the figurines contains excess levels of lead. If ingested over time

by children, the lead from the paint may present a lead poisoning hazard.

* CPSC and EV Global Motors Co. Announce Recall of Lithium Batteries in Electric

Bikes

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), EV

Global Motors Co., of North Hills, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 2,000

* CPSC, Northern Tool & Equipment Announce Recall of Air Compressors

* CPSC, Valor Heating Announce Recall of Wall Mount Gas Fireplaces

* CPSC, Huffy Sports Company Announce Recall to Repair Portable Basketball Hoops

As children and adults perfect their lay-ups in driveway basketball courts

across the country, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announces

another recall of portable basketball hoops. In cooperation with the CPSC, Huffy

Sports Company, of Sussex, Wis., is recalling about 70,000 portable basketball

systems. The basketball hoops can have a sharp protruding bolt on the player's

side of the pole that can cause serious leg or body lacerations to consumers.

Basketball players can be cut when they collide with the pole as they drive

toward the basket or when they fall or are pushed into the pole.

* CPSC, Eastman Kodak Company Announce Recall of DC5000-Model Digital Cameras

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Eastman

Safety Month with the launch of an information campaign to help babies sleep
