Guest guest
I had recently posted asking if anyone knew where I could find the article " Management of Plagiocephaly and Torticollis. " I also sent a message to the Cedar Sinai site's webmaster, and I got a response today. The article is supportive of helmet therapy (quoting excellent results), and talks about possible permanent distortion of the head/face and ocular disturbances. It is referenced in a sample appeal letter under Insurance Help, and I thought others might find it a useful resource (I was not able to find it on the web, and the link cited in the references section of the appeal letter was no longer accurate). If I put it in the wrong place, I hope one of the moderators will move it for me (it's directly under Files)? Here's a quote from the article: For those children with moderate to severe deformation, if no intervention is made, there may be permanent distortion of the head. In addition, this may lead to more prominent facial asymmetry which may ultimately lead to ocular disturbances. Also, I added my letter to pediatrician's (asking that they share information about plagio prevention, repositioning, and helmet therapy) under Files/Letters in case other parents might find it useful in the future. Now if only I could add my appeal letter as a successful one to the insurance help section (I just sent it out last Friday, so keep your fingers crossed for me).
