Ok...I know this is going to sound crazy but it did happen two years ago to my SIL's mother. She was watching my nephew and her granddaughter and she usually leaves the doors open during the summer to get air into the house. She saw a squirrel (not a chipmunk but still) come into the house and dart across the floor. She was folding clothes and it got into the clothes that she was folding. Well, when she tried to shoo it out of the clothes it latched onto her foot and bit her hard as can be. She finally got it off after about 5 minutes and was bleeding profusely from her foot!!!! I am not kidding here!!! She had to go to the ER and go through rabies shots and everything else. Thank God this was before all the West Nile craziness going on. Please be careful whatever you do if you attempt to catch it and don't let your kids on the floor!!! I thought I would share this with you because I never thought anything like this could happen either.

[Torticolliskids] O.T. Chipmunk in house. HELP!

Okay ladies, here is my problem. Tuesday I saw a chipmunk in the dining room. Of course is ran and hind behind the cabinets. I had to go get my son from school. I left the back door open when I was picking him up and hoped it would leave. When I got home I search the house for the little rodent and found no sign. So I thought it left. I was wrong, today I walk into the kitchen and the damn thing was there, it ran into the mudroom and I assume down to the basement. Bad timing for me because my husband is out of town for a wedding and I am on my own with trying to get rid of this thing. So I got a piece of wood and screwed it to the kitchen doorway to prevent it from getting into the rest of the house. I spent the afternoon with the back door open again hoping the thing will leave. I called animal control but they don't have traps small enough to catch something as small as a chipmunk. They told me to play a radio really loud in the basement to scare it out. Surprise my portable radio it broken. So instead I went to the back of the basement will a bat and started banging on all the boxes as I made my way toward the door. Still no sign of the chipmunk. I don't know how I will know if it has left. I for a moment thought about sprinkling flour by the back door so I would see footprints leaving the house. But when I stop and thought about it, I decided that I don't want ants on top of this problem, or even worse bring in another chipmunk. Now I am afraid to leave on the floor. Can you believe it? I am thinking about getting a rattrap. Yikes. I used to think it was nice to have a family of chipmunks living in my backyard, but not anymore.
