Guest guest
Hi all. Interesting post. I have been most frustrated with my son's school district. They have refused to provide any services year after year because they say that my son's IQ is at or about the level of his achievement tests, and since his attendance has been bad, they blame me for attendance and say his problems are entirely rooted in attendance and average IQ. But everyone that has tested him say that his IQ testing is probably adversly affected by his extreme anxiety during the testing. For some reason, they do not indicate that the achievement testing is equally affected. The docs all say my son is very bright and the solid achievement scores indicate that he is exceptionally intelligient. The school doesn't buy it and wants to blame me for his current lack of progress because of attendance. So they put him on homebound instruction because on some level they recognize that his attendance problems are related to his disability. But they send these fanatical instructors that push for return to school faster than he can handle (as in, within the first couple of days)! I am in this crazy loop with them! Anyone else ever hear of anxiety impairing IQ scores? I am having a hard time figuring this puzzle out. I do know that my son's needs are not being met. mm > > > > Hi, my first thought: due to her OCD, is it taking her more time > to > > complete her work?
