Neem - I answered your questions below!> 1. when repositioning do i always put my son away from his flat side or should i alternate sides? When laying him down to sleep, I would put him on the bulging side. Otherwise, I would suggest trying to keep him off his head as much as possible. Slings, babytrekkers (babytrekker.com)and carriers are great for this. > 2. we are still waiting to get an appt for our son...it might take upto 2 weeks to get it...he had tort on his right side and flatness on his left....so i need to rotate his head to the RIGHT and tilt it to the LEFT....Am i right? just want to make sure i am not doing anything wrong for him....So he has right torticollis. Try chin to right shoulder and ear to left shoulder. This was a big one for us (sides reversed though since Dane had left tort). Of course his tightness might be different than Dane's. We use toys and flashlights when the room was dark to encourage him to look the way we desired. Also the TV is a big help. can chime in here if I am wrong about this stuff. Dane had positional tort, not CMT, so this might be different. Do you belong to torticolliskids group?> 3. when on his tummy he prefers to look towards left only....i try to rotate his head towards right but he just hates it and cries a lot....is it okay to just let him look where he wants to during tummy time or should i keep trying to rotate his head?Tummy time in general is good. Dane hated this too. We got the Boppy Tummy Time Mat and that helped. If he is unconsolable, it will be difficult to get him to look in the affected direction. If you can that's great, but tummy time in general is going to help him, particularly at his age. > lot of questions from a worried mommy....he does look a lot better to me...atleast he keeps his head away from the flat spot more than he used to....one day at a time i think i will get him better...i hope so...One day at a time is a good attitude to have. It is difficult and your eyes will seem to play tricks on you! He is young enough that you have a great chance at progress and you are certainly deidcated to resolving these problems!
