Guest guest
You know that's an idea I might just do. After reading everyone else's posts about their kids being fine and my mom telling me that I had oral sedation as a baby and was fine I feel a bit better but I know something can always happen. They already have us scheduled and it's a very busy hospital so I don't know if they would be willing to change it. We'll see what happens. I don't blame you for not wanting to sedate . Dr. Frim didn't mention a CT scan at all and they said an MRI was what they wanted. will be getting a Ballert helmet just Ray's . I am glad will be on her way soon, too and I hope has good luck with this helmet. Taryn Re: 's neurosurgeon appt. today and questions for everyone!!!! Taryn,When this all started for , she had to have a CT scan done. I told them that I didn't want her sedated b/c it scared me. Well they listened to me. They didn't sedate her. It took the tech a few tries but it worked. The nurse that said that to you is a jerk! I'm sorry that she was so insensitive. Do you think that maybe you can call the doc and ask if can have a CT scan done instead? I know that for a CT scan sedation is mandatory but it is for an MRI. They told me that if needed a MRI they'd have no choice but to sedate her. I still told them noway. It just scares me too much. I know the risk of anything bad happening is VERY low, but it still scares me. Maybe they'll give her a CT scan instead. I'd call them and voice you concerns. Tell them that your not comfortable having her sedated. Hopefully they'll listen. What type of "hat" will be getting?I'm glad will be on her way to a rounder head soon!> > Well, we had 's appt. today in Chicago. We were told what I suspected...she has plagio and needs a helmet. She will be casted on Tues. She has to get an MRI of her brain done under sedation just to make sure there's nothing else causing her tort and plagio. The MRI is scheduled for Oct. 7th and then back for the results on Oct. 10th. We also have to go to see him on Oct. 31 so he can see how she is doing with her helmet. He wants to see us every three months while in her helmet. We Overall, it was pretty much everything I had expected except the lady there really made an insensitive comment that got me crying. I asked her about the risks with the sedation and she said "Well, there's always the risk she might not wake up". Like I really needed to hear that right now!!! I have been crying on and off all day long and don't even want to think like that. > > One of my questions is has anyone else had their child undergo an MRI under sedation and what happened during the procedure?> > I am sure I will be posting more on Tues. after her casting about how it went and what I should expect....Ladies and I have officially joined the club!!! I have a digital camera so I plan on taking pictures on Tues. and will send them then!!!> > Taryn> 's momFor more plagio info

Ooops I meant it ISN'T mandatory to be sedated for a CT scan, but it is for an MRI. Sorry about that.> > > > Well, we had 's appt. today in Chicago.
