Guest guest
Hi Christi, Welcome! I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you are having. You have found a good place to come. This is a great bunch of people here that are full of helpful information or ready with a listening ear. I am a mom of young children also. My oldest is 13 and then I have a 6 and a 4 y.o. I had my Artificial Disc Replacement surgery on July 19th. My mom just left yesterday. She had been here for 2 weeks to help me with my kids. Taking care of my kids was my biggest challange leading up to my surgery. Although my 13 yo has been a huge help to me. What are the ages of your kiddos? Do you have friends or loved ones that you can call on when needed? Only one of the 3 injections they gave me helped and it was short lived. What does your doctor plan to do now? Do you do P/T? Are you doing and thing in the water? I look forward to getting to know you. Keep me posted. Take care, Katrina in Idaho > Hello, my name is Christi. Guest guest
Thanks for the warm welcome. I have a 3 yr. old and a 1 yr. old. I actaully go to the doc. weds. so I guess we will figure out what to do then. i have had 2 shots and dont see a real need for a third if they arent working. I have some help but not like I need it. We are thinking of hiring a nanny. Do you have any clue if there is a way to get insurance to pay for like a nurse aid to help care for young kids when your injured??? How did your surgery go? Feeling better? Christi \ > > Hello, my name is Christi. I have had 2 cervical fusions and now > have 2 > > herniated lumbar disks. The steroid shots/nerve blocks have not > worked > > AT ALL! Guest guest
Wow! you have very young children. That is so hard when they are that young. My youngest was not quite 2 when my accident happened. How are you doing it? You have 2 under the age of 4. I am not sure about the insurance coverage for care. But definately worth it to check into it. I hope that their is something that can be done to help you more. My surgery went well. I had a complication. They think my nerve is swollen. I went along time with pressure placed on it from my ruptured disc. And then it was stretched during surgery. I have no feeling in my right foot. They call it foot drop I believe. My doc is very optimistic though. Take care, Katrina :-) > Thanks for the warm welcome. > I have a 3 yr. old and a 1 yr. old. Guest guest
No. I still have my whole esophagus. I had 2 heller myotomies. The doctor that I have been seeing wants to remove the esophagus and replace it either with my old stomach or part of my colon. I don't know for sure what I want to do (or have to). I'm just a little overwhelmed. I have good and bad days. On the bad days, which are all the time, I can't get much if anything down. On the good days, I eat all day long!! I'm just soooo tired of it all. I'm sure you can all relate to this feeling. Christi > > Before you have this chricholaryngeal myo thing done, have you > exhausted all of your other options.
