Guest guest
I wanted to post something about Ballert...I got a handout from Dr. Frim that is a cranial molding helmet instruction sheet from Ballert. It says on the second page and I quote "You have taken an important first step in choosing Ballert Orthopedic for your child's molding helmet, because Ballert uses only certified orthotists for the casting and fitting of the helmet, and for follow-up care. To receive certification, orthotists are required to complete a postgraduate course in orthotics and a year-long residency program prior to being allowed to sit for certification exams and becoming certified". They bolded the above in the handout. It sounds like they are very reputable and when I asked the girl while making 's appt. if they got a lot of helmets she said Yes, we have tons. I was impressed. I hope this helps a little bit Ray and I am sure we will be talking in the future!!!! Taryn and (being casted on 10/01/02) Re: Is anyone familiar with a Ballert Helmet HI Ray & welcome to the group! We're glad to have you with us. I've been a group member for nearly 2 yrs already, and dont' remember ever hearing the Ballert helmet mentioned in our group. Where abouts do you live? I see replied to you saying it's FDA approved. She gave you great tips.....the key to having success with the helmets/bands is having an experienced or well trained orthotist. I would suggest thoroughly interviewing your orthotist to be - ask for before & after photos of babies he/she has treated, ask for references. Check out www.plagiocephaly.org/support then "questions for the Dr"...for some great quesitons for the orthotist.Of course by the time you have read this, you've already had your appt......could you please let us know how that went?WElcome again to our group! We're glad you have found us.Debbie Abby's mom DOCGradMI> > > > > Good Morning to everyone,> > > > I was hoping that someone may have some information that could help > > me. Guest guest
Thank you so much for the info. We were given the same handout and it really helped me to get a better feeling for the whole process. I will keep you posted next Wednesday when we get the helmet.
