Way to go Vivian and glad to hear they were so accommodating. Here's to Vivian's progress in the future and I look forward to reading your posts. I am glad to hear Vivian is adjusting well. People will say and do anything when they really don't know about something. Instead of just saying something that comes to the top of their head they could come and ask what happened or what it's for. I guess some people will never learn. I am sure I will have some stories to share in a week too about people and their comments.

Vivian finally got her new hat!

Hi everyone!Well, Vivian finally got her STARband on Saturday. It was supposed to come on Friday (which was one week late) and it did not!!! I was so mad I just thought I would go ballistic. It had a thumbprint in the plastic so it was a quality control thing. I'm like - whatever -I'm just going to put a sticker on it - but oh well.So the orthotist calls me late Friday and was like "Bill at Orthomerica feels so badly about how this has gone that he is going to ship it for tommorrow morning" so she came in on Saturday (they are closed so I thought this was very nice of her) so that we wouldn't have to wait until Monday to get her fitted.I had nightmares about it all night on Friday like - ACK - what if it doesn't fit, what if it looks terrible (Debbie - I just kept on picturing Abby's STARband photos) - but it looks great. Fits like a glove, the orthotist trimmed it beautifully, and she doesn't mind wearing it at all. She slept like a log in it last night. She has a red spot on the side of her head abover her ear- so hubby is taking her in today for a little adjustment. I decorated it with purple letters and these really cute muted pattern star and polka dot stickers.We went to the mall on Sunday since she was feeling good and we got a couple of stares, nothing we couldn't deal with. I did hear one lady tell her daughter that "she must have been in a very bad accident". Funny what people will say when they don't really even know what it is.Anywhoo- just wanted to let everyone know how it went and thank you all again for your wisdom and support.
