Guest guest
Hi Deborah, I found it so interesting reading your post, you could so easily have been talking about me. I was diagnosed with RA two years ago and experienced exactly the same symptoms as you describe. I also experienced the same difficulties dressing and walking and trying to blow dry my hair was almost impossible. I was started on a high dose of Prednisone, Plaquenil and Vioxx and then three months later, started on Methotrexate. I also experience itchy skin but have put this down to going through menopause.....I have found a good moisturising cream helps and use this in the morning after I've had a shower. My RA seems to be reasonably controlled at the moment, although my left wrist and jaw have become painful and swollen over the last few months. --- In Rheumatoid Arthritis , " dkj " <outpost@c...> wrote: > Greetings all ~ I am a new member of this group and thought I'd introduce > myself. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply, ! I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with the group. The itching I experience is not like a dry skin itch... it's more like an itching -under- the skin, kind of like hives, if that makes any sense. My rheumy said it could be one of the meds, but didn't know which. Said he could prescribe a non-drowsy antihistamine if it became unbearable, but preferred not to add any other meds on top of what I already take. So I wait... Hope you are able to address the pain you are feeling now... good luck, Deborah ----- Original Message ----- From: southerncross032003 Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Monday, June 14, 2004 9:12 PM Subject: Re: Intro: New member (long!)
