Guest guest
hi there..just thought i would chime in here...its so great to find somone near you..even better when you go to the same place..thats great news...i just found someone that lives near me off of the ct website..tucker is a grad tho but his plagio is still there...hopefully some time soon i can take some pics.. good luck and keep us posted hope you two get to meet brenda Adam's casting and poll question Just wanted to let you guys know that Adam's casting went well. I was prepared for the worst (me in tears)--but it wasn't that bad. Adam's neurosurg is Dr. Frim and we went to Ballert too (small world, Taryn). Our ortho was Tom, not Jim. He was nice. Didn't cut a hole in the stocking ---said Adam could see and breathe through it fine. Adam wasn't freaking out, so neither did I. He did get a little pissy when Tom started to wrap his head like a mummy---but it was all over in 5 min. The hardest decision was which "wall paper" sample to pick for a design. Sounds like you must have picked white--since you're talking about decorating with stickers. I picked zig zag blue lines and colorful animals. We'll have to post pics when we have some. Poor kid didn't get his hair washed at the ortho and daddy didn't do it before bed. (I had to go to work this evening). We go back on Mon, Oct 14th for the helmet. Hope he likes it....or at least, doesn't hate it. Also hope Cigna pays. Need a letter of med nec from Dr. Frim. I hate his voice mail---can never talk to an actual person!! We'll go back to Frim 2 weeks later to see how the helmet fits. Someone wrote that they had a big 25# 1 yr old. Well, my almost 6 month old is almost 25 lbs. We'll get the official weight at the pediatrician on Thurs. Last thing---I want to take a poll--Adam sometimes has tremors when he's nursing. His head and arms tremble/shudder (like shivers when you're cold). It lasts for 5-15 seconds....and happens about once a day now. The ped. thinks it's nothing to worry about...immature nervous system, etc. Although, she did rec an EEG--which came back normal (this was at his 4 mon appt). Not sure what to do from here---other than hope that he grows out of them. My hubby suggests that I'm just looking for things to be wrong with my son. I'm really not!!! just want a healthy boy (with a nice, round head). I'll prob discuss this again with my ped. next Thurs at Adam's 6 mon appt. Thanks to all of you for welcoming me so warmly. It's kind of fun sifting through 100 e'mails/day. I think I've been tied to this computer too much. Mostly on after Adam is asleep. Guest guest
Maybe I will get to meet you at Frim's office. I really need to make an appt. He wanted to see Adam 2 weeks after he gets the helmet.....the 31st sounds about right. He should get his helmet on Mon, Oct 14th. I'll call and leave another lovely voice mail for his sec. Haven't heard back from that office re: my letter of med. nec. I read your posts about tort. being a good reason for med. nec. But, Adam doesn't have tort (as far as I know). Did you get a letter from Dr. Frim for your insurance?? It stinks that we have to deal with insurance companies at all. I don't know if I met Dr. Hollar. We met a female neorologist (not sure if she was a doctor or resident or what)--who asked lots of questions and did the neuro exam. We brought in CT scan results for she and Frim to review. That's when we discovered he did not have craniostenosis. Frim did not rec an MRI. I did mention the tremors to the neurologist lady--but again, she didn't seem too concerned. I'm wondering if I made a good decision about the design on his helmet. Don't think I'm creative enough to decorate one myself----although the stickers/varnish sound easy enough. Just want something kind of cute. Guess most important is that it fits and helps----cuteness is secondary. My husband made the point that Adam won't even see it, so who cares....but everyone else will. So, why do you have two appt's with Frim so close together?? Did he refer you guys for an MRI? Tell me about 's plagio. Adam's is left sided (the ortho said he sees lots more right sided than left??) Still not sure how severe it is. I didn't ask the ortho what the measurements were, but now I'm curious and may ask at the next appt. When does emily get her helmet back from Ballert. Let me know how she like it. Guest guest
Taryn. How was the MRI? Hope it went well. I'm curious to know what Frim is looking for with the MRI?? How old is ?? How bad is her plagio?? I just got the call back from Dr. Frim's sec--Adam's appt is Oct 31 at 2:15. So, we very well could run into you and . Hope she like her new helmet tomorrow. I've been obsessviely kissing and rubbing Adam's head lately---he get's his helmet next Monday (think I'm going to miss staring at his bald spot) . Also, sounds like the concensus is "no worries" about Adam's little tremor. Doesn't that sound like the same story many of us have heard about our babies flat spots? Do nothing and it will go away on it's own. I hope these tremors do. I'll talk to Adam's ped on Thurs. Can't believe he's almost 6 mons old. Where did 1/2 a year go??
