Hi,

Our daughter was diagnosed with plagio today.

Her plagio is due to her torticollis.

She also has a brachial plexus injury (erb's palsy)

She has been on OT and PT therapy since she was 2 months old.

Today, we took her for a head xray, -to rule out any fussion

of her skull.

We are considering a docband or a helmet.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Stella

Stella hi and welcome to the group for some reason I want to yell Stella Stella like rocky did with Adrien in the movie I have no clue why, I know that is corny. At any rate- 6months is a wonderful age to start treatment you are very lucky to have a proactive dr. That is great. Tort so often leads to plagio for obvious reasons-but it is wonderful you have been in therapy so long. I am sure that the tests will come back negative for Cranio please be sure to let us know when you get the results. We used a doc band for our son and were extremely happy with the treatment and results.

I did not know what BPI was but I did look it up on the web -- although I know you know what it is here is a link for any of our other members who are interested in what it is Click here: UBPN | Information | What is Erbs Palsy? I am interested to know how they diagnosed this and what nerves are effected???

I must say that if for some reason you have to fight with your ins CO about covering the band you should have no problem I found lots of lawyers out there who want to help children with your dx during my search.

Here is a link for comparing various helmets and the homepage of 2 of the companies I hope this is helpful for you. Glad to have you on board.
