Guest guest
I must admit it happened here..................... Lucas was 2 months old, so I am still somewhat postpartum and recovering from a c-section. One morning I got up to feed him and it seemed like Caleb was still asleep. I didn't think too much about it, although when I walked by his door something smelled a little "off". No big deal or so I thought. I soon finished feeding Lucas and heard Caleb. I put Lucas in the bouncy seat and went into get Caleb and was I shocked. He was naked, and brown all over! Brown on the crib, on the rails, sheet, stuffed animals, on the tent, walls...ugh! He had a crib tent over his bed so thankfully he couldn't get out. I threw him in the tub and started scrubbing, everything. I had to do 3 loads of laundry and cleaned for 3 hours. I did not know if I would make it. Thankfully I just fed Lucas so he was content. I still can not believe he did that. Looking back, it seems like it was no big deal, but at the time I was so very overwhelmed. Needless to say, now I get him up as soon as I hear him awaken and he know goes to sleep in a pull-up. He still doesn't like a diaper that is really wet or dirty. I guess I can not blame him I wouldn't either. very OT, but just had to share : P Hi everyone...so, I'm sitting at my computer doing some work, is outside playing with the dog. So after a few minutes, he walks in, I smell poop, but I think maybe it's just a poopy diaper. He says, "Mama, mama, mama." I look over at him, and he's pointing to the dog crap he spread all over himself, including, but not limited to, his face, neck, arms, legs, shirt, pants, etc., etc., etc! I just about died. I yanked his clothes off and threw him in the tub. I've never scrubbed that kid so hard and so fast in his life! Oh, and not only that, he did have a poopy diaper too. Yay for me! hee, hee..I must say, Niki, my dear, I am so sorry for laughing at you back when the twins took their diapers off and spread poop on the walls. I didn't know what I had coming to me back then. I think was still immobile at that time. Ugh, I've got every candle lit in this place...IS THIS A NORMAL THING FOR A TODDLER TO DO? Guest guest
My personal favorite of my " Tommy " stories is the morning I got up to get him and his brother only to find Tommy had already had breakfast, so to speak. Fortunately it was a one-time occurence(I wonder if the snap-ons I make him wear every night now have anything to do with it, lol). Oh, and on the subject of passive vs. active helmets... my opinion is that the growth spurt makes all the difference. Tommy was in a DOC band and although he did make measureable progress, he didn't have a single growth spurt in 5 months of wear (which is unusual, incidentally) so he is still classified as moderate-ish. I wish I had pushed for a second band, but at the time I was so sick of the whole thing I was happy to see it over (I know, bad!). Anyway I'm having a perfectly horrible month so I apologize for not posting lately...hopefully things will improve in the next day or so and I'll update. Jill Ramos > oh my..that is icky!!!! i woulda been putting tucker in a decontamination booth!! lol...tucker hasn't done anything like any of that poop stuff yet..but i'm sure its coming..i think its normal for the wall painting..my dad did it when he was little..they don't like it in there...as for the dog...maybe the dog did it! lol > > keep those candles burning!! oh yeah..how old is he..so i can be prepared!! > > brenda > very OT, but just had to share : P > > > Hi everyone...so, I'm sitting at my computer doing some work, is outside playing with the dog. Guest guest
Beck, Yes it was definitely an UGH!!! I got through it thankfully. Looking back it seems so silly to have freaked out but at the time I just thought I would die. It was so overwhelming.
