Guest guest
Duh- I guess I should have just posted the remedy I am a tard I think. 50/50 maalox and benadryl works for sore throats and strep throat too. We gave it before each meal and before bed time it would coat 's throat enough so he could eat or take a bottle or atleast start to sleep. We actually had Tylenol with codeine when he had this because he was in so much pain and it was so horrible he couldn't sleep he just cried and cried our dumb ped diagnosed him with an ear infection 2 nights later we ended up in the ER no ear infection but this instead the ER DR was wonderful saying whatever it is he needs pain management first and we will figure out how to deal with the problem in a minute our ped is not real proactive in the pain management and I had to demand the tyl with codeine during the second round but it was the only way he would eat or sleep even for an hour. I hope it doesn't get worse got a horrible case of it so I don't envy you keep us posted. Oh that remedy the ER DR called it swish and swirl and we gave a tbs. of it she said he could drink it or spit it out it didn't really matter but if he drank it it would help the throat too and we gave it often I guess since the benadryl is diluted they don't worry about it so much. How much does weigh??? beck
Guest guest
Beck, Thanks for the offer! I haven't noticed any blisters in his mouth, but on his lips. None on the hands or feet at this point either. But I'd love to know that remedy now, just in case!!! Was really miserable and not sleeping with the HFM? has been sooo cranky and tugging at his ear (but he does that when he's sleepy, too) which is why I thought it was an ear infection. Do I just have to wait it out? The dr was more concerned about strep, and didn't say much about HFM. I don't really want to be at work anyway (see my response to Debbie!) Thanks! Kristi > Kristi if I lived closer I would come take him-that stupid hand foot and > mouth has had twice and he is home with me-my ped thinks it is from > shopping carts. It is miserable and ran a temp. Are there any blisters > in the mouth? If so I have a remedy for that that works like a charm.
