Guest guest
the girl that works the front desk didn't know because the ortho wasn't in yet & she said he may have worked on it Saturday.I wish I could have seen the pattern on an actual helmet. They just had round disk samples. It's not a DOC or STAR,he makes them himself but some of the patterns I've seen on STAR bands before.I wish they had solid colors cause I would have gone with that. Guest guest
Kelli: I'm sure even if you cannot change it that pattern will be cute. I've seen photos of lots of patterned bands/helmets & think they're all super cute. Don't worry about it Have you heard back from the ortho yet today? Guest guest
Any cranial therapy and associated "appliance" (i.e. helmet or band) is regulated by the FDA. The fabricating facility as well as the physical process of fabrication is held to strict guidelines. If there is an Orthotist making his own helmet or band he is at risk of a very large fine not to mention litigation from dissatisfied parents. Ask if the Orthotic lab you are going through is FDA approved...if not get out of there! I call the ortho & asked them to keep it white if it's not too late the girl that works the front desk didn't know because the ortho wasn't in yet & she said he may have worked on it Saturday.I wish I could have seen the pattern on an actual helmet. They just had round disk samples. It's not a DOC or STAR,he makes them himself but some of the patterns I've seen on STAR bands before.I wish they had solid colors cause I would have gone with that. For more plagio info
Guest guest
I guess I am confused. If an orthotist doesn't make them who does? This place has been doing them for 8 years. I asked him if he made them or if they were contracted out & he said that they make them, that way the child is right there in front of you to get a proper fit. > Any cranial therapy and associated " appliance " (i.e. helmet or band) is regulated by the FDA. Guest guest
Kelli- Don't worry about it! As you can tell here on the board, there are several parents going with Ballert, so you are not alone. Lord knows Taryn has done her homework about Ballert! LOL! Like Kellie said I would disregard this post. You do not need anything else stressing you out! You are doing great.
